This is generally the most productive layer of the ocean because of the phosynthesizing (phytoplankton) organisms!!! The net produced three species of jellies totaling approximately 70 + individuals. Jellies are a part of the planktonic world because they move as the water flows. In other casts of the multinet we caught a variety of fish and squid...
Nestled in the jellies were a handful of yet to be identified fish... these fish were no bigger than a couple of centimeters... Would be helpful if I had a dichotimus key!!
